TSSHC-Timer-7

Instructions:

When the timer is plugged in, the timer's dial will turn clockwise. The grey arrowhead on the face of the timer points to the current time of day.

  1. Locate the grey segments on the edge of the timer's dial. Each of these segments equals approximately 2 hours. For easy setting, use a pen or pencil to push the segments out. To select the day and the hours you want the lamp turned ON, locate the correct day and push out the segments within the desired hours on the dial. You may need to turn the dial clockwise to access the desired segments. For example, to have the timer turn on a lamp between 2 PM and 10 PM Saturday and then again between 2 PM and 6 PM Sunday, push out all the segments between 2 PM and 10 PM in the Saturday section, and between 2 PM and 6 PM in the Sunday section on the timer's dial. See Figure 1.
  2. Rotate the timer's dial clockwise until the grey arrowhead on the face points to the current day and time. Note: AM and PM are marked on the dial.
  3. Set the switch at the top of the timer to the TIMER ON position.
  4. Plug the timer into an electrical outlet convenient to the lamp to be controlled.
  5. Plug the lamp into the outlet on the bottom of the timer Turn the lamp's switch on for automatic control. The timer will not turn the lamp on if the lamp's switch is off. The lamp will now turn on and off at the times on the days you have set.

NOTE: To override the timer and use your lamp normally, set the switch at the top of the timer to the OUTLET ON position. This will deactivate the timer's control of the lamp, but the timer's dial will still show the current day and time. To reactivate the timer's control of the lamp, turn the lamp's switch on and set the timers switch to TIMER ON. In case of power failure, reset the day and time as explained in step 2.

Figure 1 - shows timer set to turn lights ON at 2 PM Saturday and OFF at 10 PM Saturday, then ON again at 2 PM Sunday and OFF at 6 PM Sunday. Current time is 2 AM Saturday.

DO NOT PLUG IN MORE THAN THE RATED LOAD (SEE RATINGS).

To find total watts being used: If watts are not marked on the appliance, multiply ampere rating (on nameplate) by 120 volts to determine equivalent wafts. For lamps with multiple bulbs, sum wattage on bulbs.

This is a POLARIZED device. It has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) and a polarized outlet (one slot is longer than the other). The polarized plug is not intended to be mated with non-polarized outlets (where both slots are the same size). A polarized outlet is intended to mate with a polarized plug in only one way, the longer slot with the wider blade.
