INSTALLATION

WARNING: This thermostat is a line voltage (120-277 volt) control.  DO NOT install this thermostat if you are not completely familiar and competent with house wiring.  If improperly handled, there can be a risk of 120 to 277 volt electric shock hazard which may cause serious injury or death.  Disconnect power supply before installing to prevent electric shock hazard.
  1. Connect leadwires on back of the TSSHC-1 to conductors from heater load and power supply with solderless wire connectors.  See wiring diagram.

NOTE PRECAUTIONS REQUARDING USE OF ALUMINIUM CONDUCTORS.

  1. Remove thermostat cover.  Hold base, grasp top and bottom of cover and pull outward.
  2. Push leadwires into electrial junction box and mount thermostat onto box by pushing against top and bottom of thermostat base.
DO NOT PRESS ON DIAL INDICATOR KNOB.
  1. Secure Thermostat to junction box with both mounting screws.
  2. Replace cover on thermostat.
  3. Set dial to desired room temperature.

CAUTION: Rough handling or excessive pressure may damage control knob or sensing element, and change calibration. 

1. POWER SUPPLY. PROVIDE DISCONNECT MEANS AND OVERLOAD PROTECTION AS REQUIRED.

2. SPECIAL SERVICE CO/ALR SOLDERLESSCONNECTORS MUST BE USED WHEN CONNECTING WITH ALUMINUM CONDUCTORS; OTHERWISE, A FIRE HAZARD MAY RESULT.

3. L1 - T1 OPENS ON TEMPERATURE RISE.

    L2 - T2 OPENS ONLY IN THE OFF POSITION.

4. THERMOSTATS ARE DESIGNED TO BE USED WITH A LIMIT CONTROL LOCATED IN THE APPLIANCE.

ATTENTION

USE CERTIFIED WIRE CONNECTORS APPROVED FOR NO. 12 WIRES.
